Bokod is a 4th class municipality. Regarding urbanization Bokod is classified as rural. Bokod occupies an area of 274.96 km². By the end of 2007 Bokod was the home of 12,913 residents. Thus by average 46.96 people are living on one km².
Administratively the Municipality of Bokod is subdivided into 10 barangays. One forms the center of the city wheras the other 9 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are Tikey, Nawal, Pito, Ekip, Karao, Bila, Bobok-Bisal, Poblacion, Daclan, Ambuclao.
